Scandinavian Folded Star Tutorial
I love making folded fabric stars for the holidays, or really any time of the year. They are fantastic as tree ornaments, gift tags, stocking stuffers, or decorations. Download my Folded Star Tutorial to save or print out for convenient reference.
Different Sizes: The tutorial is written to use 4" x 16" rectangles which makes a nice size star. You can vary the finished star size by using narrower rectangles. Try 3 1/2" x 14", 3" x 12", or even 2 1/2" x 10" for cute little stars.
Starch Generously: Use your favorite starch or starch alternative generously when pressing the rectangles. The crisply starched fabric will be easier to fold and will hold a nice crease.
It's a Puzzle: Your first folded star is like a puzzle and you may feel like you will never get it. The second time you will totally get the folding pattern. And then you will be zooming through making dozens of stars for yourself and for gifts because it is so much fun!
