Sew Let's Quilt Along

Oh boy, our third mystery Quilt Along will begin in just two weeks on Tuesday, March 12. Those of you who have been on the previous QAL journeys with us have been eager to find out find out what the theme will be this year. The theme is ... all things sewing. You probably guessed that from the title, didn't you?

How It Works

Every other Tuesday, at the stroke of midnight Eastern time, we will release a new PDF block pattern for download. The QAL hosts will also share their versions of the block along with their tips for success. We all learn from each other as we go along.

This is a mystery QAL so the block patterns will be a surprise. All of the block patterns will be free to download until the end of the QAL. There will be twelve blocks that finish at 12" and one larger block that finishes at 18" x 24".

Schedule

This year we are dividing the QAL into three segments to give you more flexibility. You can make some or all of the blocks. Make one big quilt top or make smaller projects with the blocks. Different hosts will be sharing various approaches so there will be plenty of ideas for inspiration.

Segment 1: March 12 - May 21, 5 blocks
Segment 2: May 21 - July 16, 4 blocks
Segment 3: July 16 - September 10, 4 blocks

You will find announcements and plenty of other quilters to cheer you on in the Partners in Design Facebook Group. Join the group today and browse through the community postings.

On Instagram you can use #SewLetsQAL on your posts. Be sure to follow the hashtag so you can see what everyone else is making.

The absolute best thing is sharing and seeing what everyone is making. Even if you are not keeping up with the schedule or posting for the prize drawings we still want to see what you are making!

Prizes

And yes of course there are prizes! There will be a prize drawing at the end of each segment and then a grand prize drawing at the end of the whole QAL. The prizes are open to participants who are at least 18 years old.

How to Enter the Prize Drawings

There are three places you can share you blocks to be entered in the random prize drawings. Each participant will only be entered once in each drawing, even if you post in multiple places.

Facebook - share your blocks in the Partners in Design Facebook Group
Instagram - Share your blocks with hashtag #SewLetsQAL
Blog Linky - The hosts will share a link-up on their wrap-up posts at the end of each segment.

Segment Prizes

To be eligible to win a segment prize, you need to make all of the blocks from that segment. Share a photo or photos of your blocks (in a single post) to be entered in the drawing.

Grand Prize

To be eligible to win the grand prize, you need to make all 13 blocks and turn them into a quilt top or other project(s). Quilt tops don't need to be quilted, but projects do need to be finished. Share a single post that shows all of the blocks in a quilt top or other project(s). It doesn't matter how many projects or what projects you make, or how many blocks you use in each project, as long as you show that you have used all 13 blocks in a finished project or projects.
